Server Leadership & Operations

This group ensures the smooth running of Oakay, from technical upkeep to upholding our community standards.

• Owner (WillTheTallGuy)

  • Guides the overall vision and development of Oakay SMP, ensuring the server stays true to its core values of community, creativity, and respect. The owner also oversees major server decisions and supports all team members.

• Founders & Moderation Team

  • Our Admins and Moderators work to maintain a safe and fair environment. They enforce server rules, assist players with technical issues, help resolve conflicts, and ensure Oakay remains a positive space for all our mature (18+) players.

Community Governance: The Ministers of Oakay

Oakay features a unique player-driven governance system where Ministers are elected by the community. These dedicated individuals oversee specific aspects of server life, propose and plan events, and support players with zone-specific questions. Elections are held every 4 months.

• Minister of Relations (DaPuffaFish)

  • Focuses on welcoming and integrating new players into the Starter Home Area. Responsibilities include greeting new arrivals, providing initial guidance, answering questions about server rules, organizing welcoming events, and maintaining the Starter Home Area to ensure it's safe and inviting.

• Minister of Commerce (ElphieWest)

  • Oversees the Shopping District to ensure a thriving marketplace. This involves attracting new merchants, encouraging a diverse range of shops, organizing events to promote the district, and maintaining its facilities.

• Minister of Leisure (LastSpartan)

  • Manages the Game Area and promotes recreational activities. This includes encouraging the creation of games, tournaments, and community events, supporting community-driven minigame development, and ensuring the Game Area remains fun, accessible, and safe.

Specialized Teams

Supporting our community and server development are several specialized teams:

• Application Review Team

  • Our dedicated Application Review Team carefully assesses each application to ensure new members align with Oakay's values of maturity and respect. They work to maintain the quality of our community from the very first step, with at least three members needing to approve an application.

• Build Team

  • The creative backbone of many server projects! These talented individuals design and construct official server builds, from spawn areas and the Parliament building to event spaces. They coordinate closely with Ministers and server leadership, ensuring all builds are planned on the creative server before being implemented in survival.

Our Greatest Asset: The Community

Beyond these formal roles, the true heart of Oakay is its players – our "Saplings." Every member who joins, builds, chats, and participates in events contributes to making our server a unique and special place. We value everyone's input and encourage active participation in shaping our shared world, because at Oakay, everything will be Oakay!
